PhotoCoach Workshops

My approach to PhotoCoach workshops is grounded in the fact that just as Ansel Adams, Joe Cornish, Jack Dykinga, Michael Fatali, David Muench, Andrew Nadolski, Charlie Waite, David Ward, Brett Weston, - and any other of you landscape photographer heroes is unique, so are you.

It’s also true that everyone learns and develops their photography in different ways. For example, do you prefer to be a ‘hands-on just do it and if it doesn’t work, read the instruction manual’ person or are you more a ‘sit back, observe and then try it?’. Both are fine and each type needs a different approach.

So, my workshops are focused on you; how you see things; what you want to achieve; how you prefer to learn.

Seeing & Creating Pictures

Seeing & Creating Pictures

This workshop is designed for people of all abilities and experience using their own cameras.  It is a one-day workshop designed to ‘do what it says on the box’; to help you to improve your own perception of your photography. However, this workshop isn’t simply about technical stuff, lenses, or umpteen megapixel cameras.  It’s designed for you as a creative photographer.

The workshop starts with a look at where you see yourself with your photography, then what you want to do differently and then to get started.  We look at some aspects of technique; seeing pictures, composing pictures, lighting.  We also look at identifying what might be blocking you from being the photographer you want to be and we find ways for removing that blockage.  And of course we make pictures to be proud of.

The aims of this workshop are:
To clarify what you want to achieve.  What do you want to improve and why?
To look at examples of photographers that you admire
To explore and try different approaches and techniques
To make some beautiful pictures
To set yourself some goals for keeping your creativity flowing
